The Memorial-area Wilchester neighborhood is nestled in the wooded area south of I-10/Katy Freeway, north of Buffalo Bayou, and bordered approximately by Wilcrest and Glenchester.

Our neighborhood, rated high for its convenient location to Memorial-area shopping and amenities, outstanding neighborhood schools, upscale ambiance and close proximity to the West Side Energy Corridor, has maintained popularity and stable home values even in declining markets.

The subdivision was developed from a forest of native oaks and pines. Buffalo Bayou and Terry Hershey Park provides a natural setting for walking, biking or nature studies.

Our subdivision has its own homeowners association called the Wilchester Owners Committee. The WOC ensures deed restriction compliance and enforcement, oversees an Architectural Control Committee, contracts with Precinct 5 Constables for full time security surveillance, contracts with BFI Waste Management for trash pickup from the back of the home recycle pickup and many other benefits.

Each homeowner has membership in Wilchester Club, which owns and maintains pools, a park and tennis facilities within the subdivision. Three pools – a competition pool with a 1 meter diving well and a rock pool, both with water slides plus a baby pool – are located on the SE corner of the intersection of St. Mary’s and Yorkchester. Three tennis courts and the park are located at the SE corner of the intersection of Memorial and Wilcrest.

The schools serving Wilchester and Wilchester West are part of the Spring Branch Independent School District and all have been recognized for their excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Elementary age children attend either Rummel Creek Elementary School or Wilchester Elementary. Older students attend Memorial Middle School and Stratford Senior High School. The Westchester Academy for International Studies is located within the subdivisions and is an SBISD charter school offering small, personalized classes for students in grades 6-12 who choose to specialize in languages and international affairs.
